So maybe you’re like me when it comes to drinking water. I really enjoy drinking it….I do! But there are so many other tasty choices when it comes to your drink of choice. Mine? Nothing taste better than an ice cold Dr. Pepper! Yours? Maybe a cold Coke. Maybe you like the diet drinks. It could be that a nice glass of wine for dinner is the cure. I think you would agree that there are so many choices, and honestly, most of them taste better than water. Yet our great marketing gurus have made it so easy to get our hands on a sip of water!

I bet at your local grocery store there is ONE WHOLE ISLE dedicated just to water alone! Think about it!!!! How insane is this! But again, if you’re like me, we don’t drink near enough. In fact, and now I’m being way too honest, I really only drink it when I have bottles of it sitting at my disposal. When this is the case I drink a ton of water! Even though I know ‘buying’ water really doesn’t make much sense at all. I bring up water simply because out of all the tasty drinks we could choose from….there is really only one that quenches our thirst. Yes, you know as well as I do, it’s water.

How about in your life? I know you’re thirsty. Maybe not now but you have those moments. The ones where life just doesn’t seem to be fulfilling you. Maybe your marriage. Maybe your career. Maybe the money. You know you’re thirsty you just don’t know what for. Maybe it’s as simple as taking a glance at the ‘drinks’ of life you’re choosing. They may taste sweet……but they don’t quench. The cool thing is this, just like at the grocery store when you walk down that isle of drinks, or at the restaurant as you check out the menu of drinks, there is much to choose from. But what’s even more awesome is that YOU get to choose what to drink! And what’s even crazier than that is we have been offered in this life, YES in this life, a drink that will quench all thirst! It’s a kind of water. But a kind of water than never runs out. Maybe that’s what you’re seeking.

We are all like the woman at the well, thirsting for the water that will quench our soul, but thinking as she did that we don’t deserve it, but we do, because God loved us so much he sent his son to pay for our sins.
