Scribbles on the Paper of Life
Paper: pretty cool invention isn’t it? It’s interesting to look back at the history of paper, or other forms for that matter. To me, what’s most interesting is how that tree made of unbelievably hard wood can become something so thin and fragile. It honestly blows my mind. I want to invite you to do something–take out a sheet of paper. It could be from a notebook or simple printer paper. Take it and just set it on the desk next to you. Take a long, hard look at that sheet of paper. Go ahead, I’ll wait…Finished? Good. That sheet of paper, the one you just finished staring at, that’s you. It’s your today. No scribbles from yesterday. No plans for tomorrow. It’s simply this moment. This day. It’s you. It’s yours to write on, throw away, erase from, draw anew. Whatever you need to accomplish today, it’s yours. Guess what? Tomorrow you get a new, clean sheet, brand new and perfectly clean. The only reason tomorrow may have scribbles and gibberish on it is because YOU choose for it to. The only reason yesterday’s to-do-list transfers to tomorrow’s clean sheet is because YOU chose to transfer it! You see, yesterday wasn’t meant to be lived today. And today wasn’t meant to be lived tomorrow. No! Each day was meant to be lived just as that, just one day.
So today, start with a clean sheet of paper. Tonight, review it. Smile and know you fulfilled your purpose for the day. Tomorrow pull out another clean sheet. As you do this, I think you will be amazed at how each day has enough worry of it’s own….so live today for, well, today. You will find it’s so much more of an effective way to live life.
Living today,
Mitch

What a wonderful thought to get to start all over each day with a fresh, clean slate. We all need that idea and opportunity. The seminar on Mar. 28,29 was great. You gave insight and challenged us to use the tools presented to enhance our lives. You truly encouraged and inspired me “to be” !
Thanks,
